YES! It can be made on the stove top. You may have to adjust the cooking time a little bit longer, other than that it should be fine. Enjoy!

Hi Mike!
I have never made this dish with “raw” chicken, but if it is cubed I would think an additional 20 minutes would work. My only concern would be that the rice/pasta might overcook with that additional cook time. However, I’m a big believer in experimenting in the kitchen and especially the instant pot. I’ll give it a try myself some time soon and see how it works out and update my post. Hope this helped a little? Thanks for stopping by. Hope you give this recipe a try.

This has now become my go to recipe when I need something fast and easy. I always have the rice sides on hand but not always cooked chicken. So when I don’t I will take some tenders or breasts out of the freezer and boil it with seasoning and then lightly shred the chicken to add to this recipe. Thank you for this recipe!
