We must be related somehow, because you just outlined our family “pie traditions” perfectly! I mean is it even Thanksgiving without Pumpkin Chiffon pie? I think not. This Chocolate Chiffon Pie is a must at family gatherings, and ALWAYS served at Christmas! I love serving my Raspberry Cream Pie for Easter, but Mom always made Orange Chiffon for Easter as well. I have been looking for the chocolate pie recipe my grandmother used to make me over 40 years ago. After looking through this recipe, I realized this was the “Pie” she used to make for me to take to college. Thanks for posting this. Can’t wait to bring back some memories.

Hi Carrie! I know it seems a bit strange to use gelatin, I thought so too, but it works as a great thickening for these chiffon pies and it doesn’t taste like “jello” at all!
