Omg this was awesome. Did not have oil for frying, sooo I used bacon grease and stuffed the chop with stuffing and the bacon I fried. Gravy was dreamy

Hi Vickie,
While I appreciate the fact that you have a box that doesn’t have the cinnamon added to the cake, on the back of your box, the box I pulled this from actually had cinnamon listed which is why it is part of this recipe and since it was title “Original Cinnamon Streusel Coffee Cake” I followed their lead.

While I know you probably THINK this is the original recipe it is not. I have the back of a Bisquick box that had the recipe on and it does not put cinnamon in the batter of the cake cinnamon is only in the streusel topping. while this recipe is probably good, it shouldn’t say that it is the original recipe.

Adding a tsp of lime juice helps reduce oxidation (browning) as well and also adds a bit of tang. FYI! Good recipe for baked flautas!

Hi Jean!
Great tip for those doubling or increasing the recipe size. Always best to use a large pan than called for if you are going to increase the recipe size. Thanks for stopping by and sharing and I hope you’ll visit again.

Might want to update pan size when increasing recipe size. I thought I had a big enough pan but it overflowed. Super tasty though!

Sorry I’m late responding. I have made this recipe into cupcakes and got between 32-36 cupcakes. It makes the BEST cupcakes.

Hi Jessica,
It will change the texture of the cake as the chopped walnuts add texture, but it will still be delicious! Bake time will be reduced by about 5 minutes. I always strongly encourage checking these cakes as they can bake very quickly and every oven is different.
