Hi Krissy,
I generally let mine “rest” for a few minutes after shaping while the water comes to a boil, but a full second rise isn’t really necessary because they will rise in the warm water bath.

@Amanda, ingredients are always by order in the directions so it would be the first 4 ingredients go into the stand mixer.

@Ashley Bundrick, but it doesn’t specify for the first step which quantity of water you’re supposed to add.

@norine@norinesnest.com, thank you for this comment 🤣🤣 I put the baking soda in and THEN brought it to a boil and the bubbles were insane. I couldn’t see my pretzels haha. They also turned out ugly as sin but it was my first time. My bagels used to look ugly too 🤷‍♀️

@Victoria Williams, it litterally says warm water on the ingredients.
