Hi Mandy,
Did you put the baking soda in the dough or did you use it in the boiling water? If you added that baking soda to the dough, that could make them taste like baking soda? The baking soda is meant to be put in the water to help create the chewy texture on the outside of the pretzel.

@Amanda, ingredients are always by order in the directions so it would be the first 4 ingredients go into the stand mixer.]]></description>

I couldn&#039;t see my pretzels haha. They also turned out ugly as sin but it was my first time.
