WE really LOVE this scrabble (giggle) and don’t mess around when making it. Lol. My kids always grab a bag and take it home with them so the bigger the batch the more I have to keep on hand. Lol. I’m so glad you enjoyed this recipe. Happy snacking!

I made this today, and you were not kidding that it’s a BIG batch! It is really good. I bought the largest, deepest foil roasting pan I could find, but it wasn’t big enough. Wound up needing to get another one. We will be enjoying this for awhile. Thank you for sharing your Grandpa’s recipe.

Lol. I had to go back and check your name. My friend’s mom taught me how to make Scrabble about 40 yrs ago, almost this exact recipe, oil and all. We didn’t bagel chips, we used the old Tid Bit cheese crackers. Now I use goldfish or cheezits. Same cooking method too. Been gathering my ingredients as they come on sale. Making it soon for Fall and Thanksgiving. Nice to see others share the same traditions as your Grandpa.

Hi Donna!
I know I’m late in responding. I took a few days off before the Holiday to enjoy time with my family. To answer your question, from personal experience…I’ve found it tends to burn in a roasting oven because of the direct heat underneath the pan! I use my pan from my roasting oven and just make it in my oven on the lower heat mentioned in my post and recipe card. Hope you had a great Christmas. Wishing you a Happy New Year.

Actually the addition of the Bagel Chips was my Aunts and my kids just love them! However…they also love Bugles so we will have to try those next time! Thanks for the suggestion! Hope you have a wonderful New Year!
