Hi Sherry!
Yes! It is the exact recipe taken right from the Fall book! It is a must have every year at this Nest. Isn't this the BEST cheesecake recipe! I'm so glad you found it and I was able to help in some small way.
Happy New Year!

Yes! Lost the fall pilsbury book when we moved years ago. I made this every year until the recipe was lost. I made my own concoction as a replacement and it was close but not the same. I also called it chocolate chip pumpkin cheesecake : ) for the same reason as you.
This is the best. A must try for those of you on the fence.
I thought I remembered the filling being thinner than yours. Is this the exact recipe from Pilsbury? Thank you so much for rescuing this recipe for myself and others

Hi Carrie!

I'm the blog author. I'm so glad you found this recipe. It's a tradition at this Nest too! You are right that it isn't necessary to scrape out the cream filling however, the original recipe in the book called for just cookie crumbs without the filling. I generally scrape it out because it's just more fat and calories and I prefer the texture of the crust with just the cookie crumbs and the butter. So it's just a personal taste thing. Either way works. I hope your family loves this tradition. I know ours does. I think there would be an uprising if it wasn't on our table come Turkey day. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to visit. Hope you'll stop by again Have a wonderful holiday.
Happy Nesting!

My mom bought that Pillsbury cookbook when I was a teenager and made it for several years. I now am tasked to make it, but the book is long gone and the recipe was lost. I found myself googling the recipe and this looks like the right one. I'm not sure why the blog author scrapes the cream out of the cookies. My mom always ground up the cookie, completely in tact, in the food processor, as the recipe never instructed to take the cream out. We always had a great chocolate crust and you can't see the cream when they're all mixed up anyway. I think taking the cream off is an unnecessary step. I'm thankful for this recipe and can't wait to carry on with the family "Thanksgiving cheesecake" tradition. (That was our family's nickname for it.)

[…] Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cheesecake is the number one requested dessert at Thanksgiving! It’s a MUST! The creamy mildly spiced pumpkin and tiny melted chocolate chips just meld together with each and every bite. I discovered this AMAZING dessert years ago in one of those “check stand” Pillsbury cookbooks. I’ve been making it ever since. It never disappoints. NEVER!
[…] Let’s start by preheating the oven to 350 degrees. Make sure you have your pans all prepared for the “water bath” method. This will prevent the cheesecake from splitting. If you’re not sure how to do that, you can find the instructions under the Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cheesecake recipe. Click here.
