Hi Linda,
Yes! You could certainly do that. Just be careful not to over cook the ham. It might dry out.
Thanks for stopping by and visiting. Hope you have a great week.

Hi John!
Thanks! I'm so glad you enjoyed this recipe. I just saw Ham Steaks on sale this week and thought what a great budget friendly meal this would for two for the Holidays! Appreciate your review and five stars. Thank you and Happy Holidays.

Loved that you had an egg hunt for others and mentioned inviting a "lonely" to sit at your Easter table. As an only child with an only child, living several states away from extended family, our holiday meals were often small. Until I decided to start inviting similar families and empty nesters to join us. The first Easter lunch was 40 people! It was a fun, laid back affair after church with baked spiral sliced ham, hash brown potato casserole, tossed green salad and store bought rolls. The folks who couldn't bear to come without bringing something got to bring dessert. This has continued now for Easter, Christmas and Thanksgiving when we're celebrating at home as our "orphan dinners" even though we moved back closer to family 19 years ago. Today they're much smaller (only 9 this year) but with the same menu for Easter. Sometimes I add a green veggie like asparagus, and this year we exchanged the potato casserole that always seems to need way more time to cook for a delightful squash casserole. And now that we're back in Alabama deviled eggs are a must for Easter. Friends make our holiday tables a real joy for us as well as others. Thanks for the great recipes. I plan to try the whole menu!
