Ingredients

  • cups Cherry Pie Filling
  • 1 13.2 ounces Refrigerator Puff Pastry
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon Almond extract
  • 1 Tablespoon milk
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°(F). Line a large baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Unwrap the puff pastry dough, use a rolling pin to gently roll out the dough, and square up the edges. Do not apply pressure. Cut into 6 equal squares. In a small bowl, beat the egg. Brush the outside edge with egg wash. Place one large heaping tablespoon in the center of each square of dough.
  • Fold one corner over to the other corner. Press dough down and crimp the edges together using a fork. Brush the top of each cherry turnover with remaining egg wash. Place prepared cherry turnovers on the parchment-lined baking sheet. Do NOT grease the baking sheet.
  • Place the cherry turnovers on the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 20–25 minutes until the tops are golden brown and flaky. Remove from the oven and place on a rack to cool.
  • In a small bowl, combine the powdered sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and almond extract. Mix until smooth. Drizzle over the top of each cherry turnover. Let cool until glaze is set. Serve immediately. Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
