Quick And Easy BBQ Beef Teriyaki Stir Fry Recipe
Discover how to whip up a flavorful beef teriyaki stir-fry for the BBQ in minutes with this quick and easy recipe, perfect for a delicious weeknight dinner.

Why I love Beef Teriyaki Stir Fry
There’s just something about cooking dinner on the BBQ in the summer that makes everything taste a little bit better! I think it’s the fact that the 100° temps stay outside and not inside? Lol
This Teriyaki Steak Stir Fry is one of those easy, flavorful meals that comes together right on the grill in a grill basket. Tender chunks of marinated steak are tossed with summer-fresh squash, mushrooms, peppers and onions, then finished with juicy chunks of fresh pineapple that get beautifully caramelized as everything cooks together.
Add an extra drizzle of your favorite bottled sweet and savory teriyaki sauce to the mix, and you’ve got a sizzling, smoky, flavor-packed dinner that’s as fun to make as it is delicious to eat! It’s summer grilling at its very best…simple, fresh, and absolutely bursting with flavor.
This is one of my favorite summer dinners! It is healthy, delicious, and comes together in minutes. Let’s get grillin’ friends!

How to Make BBQ Stir Fry Teriyaki Beef
This dish comes together quickly, so preparing everything ahead of time is essential to its success. I like to marinade my beef for an extra depth of flavor. So, let’s begin there!
Preparing The Beef
You can use several different cuts of beef for this dish.
- Sirloin Steak: This cut is affordable, tender, and easy to cut into bite-sized pieces.
- Tri-Tip: This cut is loaded with flavor thanks to its amazingly good marbling. It helps keep the meat juicy during high-heat cooking.
- Flank steak: Another great choice! It absorbs marinade quickly and cooks quickly.
- Flat Iron and Skirt steak are two other options.
I prefer to use sirloin steak. I purchase 1 pound of top sirloin, about 1–2 steaks a half-inch thick, and cut it into bite-sized chunks, making sure I remove any excess fat.
Place the cubed beef in a freezer bag with 1 cup of teriyaki sauce. Place in the refrigerator and marinade for at least 1 hour, or overnight. Before grilling, remove any excess sauce. Place the prepared beef in a bowl to have on hand when you begin to BBQ your stir-fry.
Let’s get grilling! Cooking instructions
I know this is a “grilling” recipe, but please know you can make this on your stovetop in a large skillet over medium-high heat, or on your Blackstone griddle, following the same instructions as for grilling.
TIP: ALWAYS be sure to wear silicone baking gloves while grilling with a grill wok! The wok will get VERY HOT! Silicone gloves allow you to hold onto the wok to keep it from sliding around while grilling.
Begin by preheating your BBQ to medium-high heat, about 400°F. Spray your grilling wok with cooking spray. Place the wok on the grill. The basket should be hot when you begin cooking.
Place your steak in the preheated BBQ wok. Use a wooden spoon, or stir-fry paddle, to stir-fry the meat on the grill.

Cook the meat until it is brown on all sides with golden crispy edges. About 4–5 minutes.
TIP: If the heat is too hot on your BBQ, you have a few options. The first is to reduce the flame. The second, if it is a gas grill, to turn the heat off under the wok and use the side burns for indirect heat.

Adding Vegetables To The Stir Fry
Add all the vegetables to the grilled steak at once. Don’t touch that pineapple yet! Just let her sit there waiting her turn!
Carefully stir the vegetables and meat together while cooking over the open flame. Y’all… I’m drooling! Look at all those beautiful fresh veggies.

Add a drizzle of teriyaki sauce to the vegetables and steak. Give everything a good stir and continue cooking until the vegetables are “fork tender.” About 4 minutes. Stirring frequently.

NOW! Now you can add that beautiful, sweet fresh pineapple! The flavor the pineapple adds to this grilled steak dish is incredible. Grilling brings out the sweetness as it caramelizes.

Give the dish another drizzle of teriyaki sauce, and another stir, as it continues to cook. Continue cooking until the pineapple turns slightly golden brown around the edges, indicating it has begun to caramelize.
The dish is finished! Just like that…within a few minutes, in one pan, over an open flame! You’ve just created a wonderful fresh summer meal everyone will love!

Tips for a Quick and Easy Meal
When it comes to getting dinner on the table, I’m all about keeping things simple without sacrificing flavor! A little prep work ahead of time makes this Teriyaki Steak Stir Fry come together in a flash. Let’s review some of my helpful tips.
- Prep your vegetables ahead of time. Slice the squash, mushrooms, and onions earlier in the day and keep them refrigerated until you’re ready to grill.
- Cut the steak into bite-sized pieces. This helps it cook quickly and evenly on the BBQ.
- Use fresh pineapple for the best flavor. You can cut it ahead of time and have it ready to toss into the grill basket.
- Choose your favorite teriyaki sauce ahead. Having the sauce ready to go means all you need to do is toss everything together and get it on the grill.
- Get the BBQ nice and hot. A hot grill gives the steak and vegetables that delicious grilled flavor while helping everything cook quickly.
- Have everything ready before you start cooking. Once that grill basket hits the BBQ, things move quickly! Having your ingredients prepped and close by makes the whole process easy and stress-free.
Serving Suggestions
This Teriyaki Steak Stir Fry is a complete meal all on its own, but there’s always room for a few tasty extras! I love serving it over a bed of fluffy white rice or fragrant jasmine rice to soak up all that delicious teriyaki sauce.
For a lighter option, cauliflower rice is a great choice. You could also serve it alongside some extra grilled vegetables, a simple green salad, or even a little extra fresh pineapple for that sweet summer touch.

Don’t forget a sprinkle of sliced green onions and sesame seeds on top. They add the perfect finishing touch and make this BBQ stir-fry look as good as it tastes!
Recipe Wrap-Up!
If you’re looking for an easy summer dinner that’s packed with fresh flavor and doesn’t leave you sweating over the stove, this Teriyaki Steak Stir Fry is a winner!
Everything cooks together in a grill basket right on the BBQ, which means less mess in the kitchen and more time enjoying the beautiful summer weather.
